kitchen from hell

Being a student i know how hard it is to wash up after me.
not only does the washing up liquid affect my skin but the thought of that sqeaking noise as you dry the dish goes right through me.
does any other student suffer with this problem and do you think there is a grant that would allow for us to have new dishes instead of us being put through the torture of washing up every month!
And while were on the subject of cleaning can anybody tell me is there such a thing as polish or is this just a urban legend.
